Pink Irreverence – Lancôme, Spring 2009 | Aaron De Mey’s first collection

This is one of my favorite brands lately. What? Does that surprise you? This is not your mother’s Lancôme, kids!
And if anyone was worried that the new Lancôme would suffer or slip backwards when Gucci Westman left can breathe a sigh of relief. Take a look at Lancôme Spring ‘09 collection, Pink Irreverence – the first full-on collection from new Artistic Director for Makeup, Aaron De Mey.
Spring ‘09 at Lancôme means hot pink, darkest black, the interweave of matte and shine – it all results in fierce sexiness. No wimpy Spring pastels here!

Let’s breakdown the collection:
- Lips -
- La Laque Fever Full Color Lipshine | “Densely pigmented pearls” mingle with fancy newfangled polymers that are supposed to last upto 6 hours without faltering. Four shades are introduced: Electric Pink, Optical Rose, Lucent Nude and Iridescent.
- Color Fever Gloss | Piha Black is back. Did you buy it this Fall? I actually didn’t, but now I have a second chance and so do you! I’m not sure how black gloss fits into Spring, but I’m willing to give it a shot. After all, who doesn’t love a very pregnant woman in black lipgloss!? Um… on second thought, I may leave this to you guys and gals! (But I may pick one up for future use)

- Laque Liner | Precision lining takes it to a new level. You get to pick from two shades that both sound stunning: Pure Black (really -it’s PURE, intense black), and Pure Sparkle (clear and shimmery).
- Color Design Eyeshadow Quad | Two palettes, so you can create purple and pink sweetness or drama, and on other days keep the eyes neutral and let you lips and kick-ass shoes do the talking! Irreverent Madame and Mademoiselle Sass.
- Nails -
- La Vernis Nail Lacquer | YUM. I’m definitely checking this out! Sassiness is stunning pink, in the order of the rest of the collection. Phia Black matches the sparkly black Piha lipgloss that just takes your breath away. I’m SO on the way to see these… PS: They have a new-and-improved brush, too (hopefully better received than the OPI Pro-Wide brush).
